Tuesday classes
For History of Philosophy the quiz question was what do you think of this art http://www.dennis-oppenheim.com/web/artwork/content/images/img_59.jpg - what does it mean? How do you interpret it? For Introduction to Philosophy there were two questions today. The first was have you ever been saved (in the religious sense of the word) and what does that mean to you? A second question is the famous - if a tree falls in the forest and there is no one there to hear it does it make a sound? Heck, you have to have a chance to answer that question!

Monday Logic - welcome back after Spring Break!
The quiz question today was to give an example of a true statement of the form "if and only if".

Thursday classes - now Spring Break
For both classes today I asked the quiz question what are your plans for spring break? I think that is a happy question! I plan on reading 15 books and posting my reviews on Amazon!

Logic Wednesday
Since we started off today discussing the symbolic system there was no specific quiz question but I would be interested in thoughts you might have regarding the differences in ways of knowing, such as comparing Native ways of knowing and what we might call Western Science.

Tuesday Classes
History of Philosophy discussed Utilitarianism today and the quiz question was a fill in the blank - Better to be a dissatisfied human than a happy pig, better to be a dissatisfied Socrates than a happy what? But what do you think of the idea that some people deserve more than others because of their quality? For Introduction to Philosophy today the question was on the issue of the mind as a blank slate.

Monday Logic
No quiz question today since we mostly worked on the practice test for test 2. Some also did test 2, and others are continuing to work on test 2. (Notice the test is actually labeled test 1 since they were previously printed before the first test this semester.)
